"I can keep this short, the first 2 stories are exceptional and but I have to say that the new story added to this trilogy was less than what I had hoped for but was still a good story but was much too short in the end and for those with sensitivities about anything sexual will probably take offense in the humor and strategy employed here (it should not be a spoiler that there is no actual sex in this story) so everything taken into account including that only the last story is new but does not make the first 2 stories any less than amazing, I have to say 4 stars when everything is considered."

- I really enjoy the works of Ilona Andrews, but should know by now that the same books are released under different titles / collections repeatedly. Buyer beware--I'm tired of buying the same books again and again when the content is not clearly indicated.
In all fairness, I enjoyed the first two works very much. The third (and new) story didn’t quite live up to expectations, but was ok. - Yes. I know that the first 2 stories were previously published. And Yes. I already have them. But it was worth it to me to get them together plus a third story. Was disappointed that the 3rd story was so short. I am really hoping it was such a tease, because they are going to write a full length novel, expanding on these characters.
1st story=she’s an assassin with a grudge. He’s the one that gave it to her. In her heart, she still loves him.
2nd story=she just wants to live in peace. He needs to find the mystery women. She has fantasy’s
3rd story=diplomacy blows up. She has the solution. - I've read everything by Ilona Andrews and have saved this set for a long time. I went in expecting it to be more along the lines of their UF series Hidden Legacy or maybe Innkeeper Chronicles. I was a little taken aback that it ran more to a true SciFi than the other series....at first. I was quickly caught by the robust characters and snappy dialogue that is truly a signature to this duo. They were relatively quick reads so it's a great start for those who love SciFi but haven't read Ilona Andrews before. I can see it being the "gateway drug" to some of their more UF series. Also, the story "A Mere Formality" is tongue and cheek hilarious. Glad I waited to read them all together.
- I've purchased the first two before as singles and have the third in another format, but was very happy they put all three together in one "book". I wasn't sure what to expect from the stories, but like their other novels, you get hooked and want to see the outcome. The third book was totally different from the others, but we were warned so it was not too shocking for those of us who follow them. There may be more in this series. We hope so.
I personally like short stories. Since I'm a slow reader and read a few chapters at a time, these short stories are exactly what I look for while waiting for other books to read. - Super Amazing anthology! This beautiful collection of two novellas and a short story was unexpectedly super fantastic. I wasn't prepared for such gorgeous Romance! Ilona Andrews and Romance? Sure, I knew they had no problem writing amazing UF/R and SciFi/R. Because I read and loved them all. Like " Kate Daniels" series, the "Edge" series, Hugh & Elara's love story, and the super hot Mad Rogan and Nevada's steaming and kick-ass love story, to name a few!
Yet "Silence Blade", "Silver Shark", & "A Mere Formality" had definitely upped the stake to a totally different league. I was so blown away right now! But then I realized that what I just read and fell so crazy in love with was re-published! Which meant that IA already got bored and moved on to the present! To writing new books! I felt kind of sad. Loved the Kinsmen Universe so much. And I yearned for a full length novel of The Reigh Lord and Deirdre's love story and adventure. So sad it wasn't meant to be.
Fortunately, the thought of the upcoming release of "Sapphire Flames" makes me dance with happiness. Sadness can rest in peace in the past. - Hoping the title of my review would help the readers who did not read the blurb. I have not read "Silver shark" - second novella in the book, so I eagerly clicked. All of these stories set in the Universe where some people have a lot of interesting powers and you can see how the world of Primes in "Burn for me" trilogy was probably born out of these books. First two stories are wonderful love stories with fascinating adventures and really cool women characters. I don't know just say this to say - oooo strong women, how awesome. No, it is just I primarily read for male characters ( I am an avid reader of m/m romance as well), and Ilona Andrews duo is one of the very few writers/writing partnerships that makes me love the romances in their books.
Third story was weird. Nope, not because of porn, or I should say talk about porn, because we certainly don't see anybody engaging in the explicit sexual activities on page. It was funny, don't get me wrong, I just did not buy that the hero and heroine have a future together . At most we see the beginning of courtship, but no way I bought this would lead into successful marriage, so this gets the lowest grade from me, two stars. - I am truly disappointed. I bought this book as a preorder and was happy to receive it. That is, until I realized it contained two previous submitted short stories and an original story with only three chapters. In fairness, the story line is good and with seven more chapters would have been great. That’s not the case. I feel cheated.
